Background
The parties had previously filed a joint omnibus administrative motion to seal. On July 2, 2024, the court directed them to meet and confer and reconsider their sealing requests under the “compelling reasons” standard. The court required them either to file a revised motion with narrower requests for sealing or redactions or to file a joint statement explaining why the existing motion met that standard.
The parties agreed to prepare a revised joint motion. They stated that they were consulting with their clients and pertinent third parties about narrowing the requests and that limited availability before July 9, partly because of Fourth of July holiday scheduling conflicts, made the existing deadline difficult to meet. They also agreed that the revised motion would include sealing or redaction requests concerning information filed with several motions in limine.
Ruling
The court ordered, pursuant to the parties’ stipulation and for good cause shown, that the deadline to file the revised joint omnibus administrative motion to seal be reset from July 9, 2024, to July 19, 2024. The stipulation stated that no other deadlines would be changed or affected. This order addressed only the filing deadline and did not decide the parties’ underlying sealing requests.
