Background
On October 11, 2019, the court granted Peyrot & Associates, PC’s request to withdraw as counsel for ITrust S.A. The court had ordered ITrust to notify it by November 11 whether it had obtained replacement counsel, but ITrust had not done so. The court stated that ITrust could not proceed without a lawyer and therefore had to obtain counsel.
The case’s July 12, 2019 case-management and scheduling order also required the parties to submit a joint letter by November 15 before a post-discovery conference scheduled for November 22. The letter was to update the court on the case, including whether either party planned to file a motion that could resolve the case and what settlement efforts had occurred. The parties had not submitted the letter.
Order
Judge Ronnie Abrams ordered ITrust, by the end of the day on November 19, 2019, to inform the court whether it had obtained replacement counsel and, if so, to have that lawyer enter an appearance on the docket. The court also ordered the parties to submit their joint case-status letter by the end of the day on November 19, 2019.
