What happened

Background
On July 7, 2022, Magistrate Judge Stewart D. Aaron issued a Report and Recommendation recommending that the court grant Janet Jackson’s motion for judgment on the pleadings, deny the Commissioner’s cross-motion, and remand the case for further administrative proceedings. The order states that the Report and Recommendation described the case’s facts and procedural history in detail, but this order does not repeat them.
Review of the Recommendation
The parties had fourteen days to submit specific written objections. No objection was filed within that period. Judge Woods reviewed the unchallenged recommendation for clear error and found none. After reviewing the record, the parties’ submissions concerning the motions, and the Report and Recommendation, the court agreed with Judge Aaron’s conclusions and adopted the recommendation in its entirety.
Ruling
The court granted Jackson’s motion for judgment on the pleadings and denied the Commissioner’s cross-motion for judgment on the pleadings. It remanded the case to the Commissioner of Social Security for further administrative proceedings consistent with the opinion. The Clerk of Court was directed to terminate the two pending motions and close the case.
