What happened
Configure Partners LLC and Configure Partners Securities LLC asked the court to temporarily pause discovery that RACI Holdings LLC had served in the case. Configure sought the pause while the court considered its separate request to stay discovery pending a ruling on Configure’s summary-judgment motion.
Configure said responding to discovery and attending depositions would impose unnecessary costs. RACI opposed delaying discovery. The request concerned an interim pause, or alternatively a temporary protective order, while the separate discovery-stay motion was pending.
In Configure Partners LLC v. RACI Holdings LLC, Judge Jennifer E. Willis denied the interim-stay motion as moot because of an order entered at Docket No. 53. She also directed the Clerk to close the motion at Docket No. 50.

Background
Configure Partners LLC and Configure Partners Securities LLC, referred to together as “Configure,” asked the court to schedule a conference and issue an interim stay of discovery. The requested stay would have paused discovery served by RACI Holdings LLC while the court considered Configure’s separate motion to stay discovery pending resolution of Configure’s motion for summary judgment.
The letter stated that RACI had served discovery on Configure and a nonparty and had noticed depositions. Configure argued that continuing discovery while its stay request was pending would create unnecessary costs and burdens. RACI opposed the requested delay.
Ruling
Judge Jennifer E. Willis denied the interim discovery-stay motion as moot because the motion was rendered moot by the order at Docket No. 53. The court respectfully requested that the Clerk close the motion at Docket No. 50. The order did not resolve the underlying summary-judgment motion or state the outcome of Configure’s separate motion to stay discovery.
